Plant-based energy balls/bars
It’s fair to say I’ve developed an addiction to Veloforte energy bars. They are so good I sometimes have one as a snack. But, I recently discovered, during an online triathlon webinar, and through books, that it takes only a few minutes to prepare your own energy balls/ bars. Those plant-based energy balls – 4 ingredients only – have rapidly become my go-to snacks.

- 100g oats
- 250g dates, stoned
- 60g chia seeds
- 50g agave nectar
Blend the oats, dates and chia seeds together in a food processor. Add the agave nectar and blend once more. Roll into balls, place in the fridge for 30-60 minutes to firm up and enjoy! These will keep for up to three days in the fridge.
