While the smartphones have invaded our lives and are doing pretty much everything, it hasn’t fully replaced a good old watch.

There is one I particularly love, it’s Rafael Nadal’s. It looks stunning. However, this light and thin masterpiece built from titanium and carbon by Richard Mille come at a price. At £556,000, it’s unlikely to ever make it to my wrist.

It’s probably for the best. After all, I bet it just gives time. And I expect a bit more from my watch. That pushed me to my loved brand, Garmin, and its Forerunner 920 XT, in red.

While it looked amazing when I first bought it, I now find it very chunky and outdated. And will only wear it during my sporting activities (running, cycling, swimming, skiing, walking) and races (duathlons, triathlons).

So for my day to day life (and sometimes night), I went for a more affordable, fitness tracking, and long life battery lasting watch from a French brand (until recently when bought by Nokia), the Withings Activite Steel.

But still looking from time to time to be unfaithful to Garmin and my French route:
