Elite Turbo Trainer

Elite Turbo Trainer
April 11 21:00 2017

Zwift looked like a great way to outcome the boredom of cycling alone in my garage.

I went ahead and bought a Garmin USB ANT+ to plug on my MacBookAir, downloaded the Zwift application, set up for a free trial, logged in, and put on my best cycling outfit. Happy days. All good to go. Only to find out that my Elite Qubo Wireless wasn’t.

Well, not. Unfortunately, after hours spending on the application settings, my trainer was still not recognized. A quick discussion with the Zwift support made it clear that I won’t be able to synchronise my Elite Qubo Wireless.

I’ve tried to get rid of my turbo trainer on FaceBook market, Gumtree and eBay. No one wanted it! I then discovered that my trainer was using the ANT communication. Which is different from the ANT+. And … that Elite released a new firmware to upgrade my trainer to be ANT+ compatible.

I’ve borrowed a Windows laptop as the upgrade only works on Windows, connected it to my trainer and went smoothly through the upgrade process. Which worked like a charm. I have to say I was pleased with the Elite support I’ve received. I now have a brand new Elite Qubo Digital Smart B+turbo trainer.
